THE MISSION OF THE LADIES PHILOPTOCHOS SOCIETY

  • to aid the poor, the destitute, the hungry, the aged, the sick, the unemployed, the orphaned, the imprisoned, the widow, the handicapped, the victims of disasters, to undertake the burial of the impoverished persons and to offer assistance to anyone who my need the help of the Church through fund raising efforts; and
  • to promote the charitable, benevolent and philanthropic purposes of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, through instructional programs, presentations, lectures, seminars and other educational resources;
  • to preserve and perpetuate Orthodox Christian concepts and the Orthodox Christian Family, and through them, to promote the Greek Orthodox Faith and traditions, in accordance with its doctrines, canons, discipline, divine worship, usages and customs;
  • to promote the participation in the activities of the Greek Orthodox community, with the cooperation of the Parish Priest and the Parish Council.

The Ladies Philoptochos Society of Saints Peter and Paul Church in Frederick, Maryland, is pleased to announce it will be hosting this year's Metropolitan Tea to support the Children's Agape Foundation.
 
The tea will take place on Saturday, January 26th, 2008 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at the Saints Peter and Paul Church in Frederick, Maryland. The featured guest speaker will be Maria Foscarinis, Esq., Executive Director of the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty. Maria will be giving a presentation on the mission behind her organization.  
 
Our very creative planning committee is working hard to ensure this will be an enjoyable, memorable and tasty event! More important, we hope to raise money for a very important cause. January 31, 2006 - Check presentations from Fashion Show Proceeds

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Ladies Philoptochos Society of Saints Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church recent-
ly held a lunch and fashion show. Proceeds from the event were donated to various
charities.
On January 31, 2006, Dr. P. Gregory Rausch of the FMH Cancer Therapy Center (above)
accepted a $600 donation from Fr. Anastasios and
Philoptochos members Virginia Makrides and
Gloria Palios.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That same day, Fr. Anastasios and Philoptochos member Marie Carras presented a $600 donation
to Advocates for Homeless Families. (above)
Elizabeth Galaida, Director, accepted the check.
Furthermore, a $500 donation was forwarded to the national Hurricane Katrina
Relief Fund.
